2020. The year you take your hair game from 0 to 100. But how?
Step 1 = check out our top six hair care tips for men, designed to help you nail your own unique hairstyle and keep your hair in-check in no time at all.
#1 Get regular haircuts
A regular trip to the barbershop or a hairdresser is the key to keeping your cut fresh and avoiding unruliness.
Try sitting in the chair every 2-4 weeks (at a maximum) to make sure that hair not only styles exactly how you want it to, but also looks and feels healthy.
By doing so you’ll ditch the split ends, which is especially important for longer hair.
#2 Don’t be too harsh with hair
Hands up if you’re guilty of vigorously towel drying your hair, heavily applying product and dragging a comb or brush through it to get rid of knots and built-up product.
Did you know, doing this repeatedly makes the hair weaker and increases the risk of thinning?
It’s a no-brainer that being a little gentler on the hair and scalp (especially as we approach the dreaded 30s) helps to keep hair thicker and fuller for longer.
#3 Always use conditioner
We get it – you don’t have the time to use multiple products when you’re in the shower (or perhaps you just can’t be bothered), but introducing a conditioner will help to nourish the hair and scalp, giving your style some added shine and much-needed moisture.
To take the hassle out of applying conditioner, we’ve just launched two brand-new 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioners, so you won’t have to worry about reaching for two separate products.
#4 Identify your hair type and preferences
Haven’t quite mastered your chosen style yet? It’s time to get to grips with your hair and it’s needs.
Scenario 1: you consider your hair to be ‘normal’ – that’s easy, the Original range is the one for you.
Scenario 2: your hair is starting to thin or lacks volume, it’s officially time to try the Volume range.
Scenario 3: hair type aside, you always reach for a product that will lock-in your style all day long… in which case, we reckon you’ll dig our Super Hold collection.
Once you’ve defined your hair type and decided the level of hold you prefer, the only thing left to consider is finish. Natural, Gloss or Matt – whichever finish you choose, you’re sure to find a suitable product within your chosen collection!
#5 Lower the heat
If you’re a fan of heated styling tools (most likely the trusty hairdryer) it’s time to turn down the temperature.
Yes, it might feel like your hair is taking a little longer to dry, but extended heat exposure can cause damage, breakage and dry the hair out, so avoid it at all costs.
That’s right… there’s no need to stick to the same hairstyle you’ve had since you were 16 because you ‘know it well’. 2020 is the perfect time to experiment with different styles, whether you’re into beachy waves or a shorter, slicked back style.
