The Fish Crew has put together a list of its top speakeasy bars in Soho.
If you fancy a cheeky night out in the colourful square mile, why not try one of our top 5 bar recommendations? Just like our Fish Salon, these bars are one-offs, quirky, retro and full of character. Just like speakeasys back in the day, they are on the low down... so mum’s the word!
If you’re visiting the Fish salon why not check out these secret Soho gems and make an evening of it?
1. The Crobar
Compact rock bar with jukebox and live music, memorabilia on the walls and popular happy-hour deals. It's impossible to have a bad night out at this place.
Long may it rock.
Address: 17 Manette St, Soho, London W1D 4AS
Phone: 020 7439 0831
2. Garlic and Shots
This gothic bar is not the place for a first date. “You can always order more garlic, never less” is the mantra of this edgy bar in the heart of Soho. Go for the vampire repelling Swedish tapas, stay for the shots. There are 101 shots to choose from to be precise! We recommend the Spider Woman’s Kiss with chili Vodka and Sambuca.
Address: 14 Frith St, Soho, London W1D 4RD
Phone: 020 7734 9505
3. The Toucan
lf it’s the Guinness and the craic you fancy, then head for the Toucan.
Just off Soho Square, this small but cosy lrish-themed pub is an institution for Soho regulars. With its Celtic dishes and a grand pint of the black stuff, it’s the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of Soho; even the Tato crisps are lrish! And just for the record, Jimmy Hendrix played there in the 1960s.
Address: 19 Carlisle St, Soho, London W1D 3BY
Phone: 020 7437 4123
4. The George
If you just fancy an old school London boozer, you can’t go far wrong with The George, with its traditional décor and extensive array of ales and lagers. The friendly staff also serves up stone-baked pizza.
It’s also bang opposite our Fish Salon on D’Arblay Street, perfect for a post-haircut pint!
Address: 1 D'Arblay St, Soho, London W1F 8DG
Phone: 0207 734 1951
5. Trisha’s (Blue Door Bar)
If retro and quirky are your thing, then Trisha’s is the place for you (if you can find it!). Behind its blue door and down the shabby staircase, you’ll find a 1960s throw-back bar that resembles someone’s home. Retro posters, magazines and boxing gloves litter this tiny bar; but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. Trisha’s bar has the Soho feel from days gone by with its speakeasy feel.
Address: 57 Greek St, Soho, London W1D 3DX
Phone: 020 7437 9536
